This sure looks like a nifty anchor design. Anyone have experience with this product?

Where/how can this anchor be purchased in the U.S.?
Emma Mathis says:
Hi Thane,
We looked around and, unfortunately, it does not seem to be currently available in the U.S.
Torrey Bingham says:
I bought one recently and I love it, mostly because it’s such a cool boat gadget. I tend to anchor in really shallow areas off western Florida, and it needs more depth than that to give it room to fly and to unreel enough scope. A perfect stern anchor (you can toss it after you’re settled where you want to be instead of doing the fore and aft anchor shuffle) and I get comfort knowing it’s there in case I have to kedge. Stores compactly.
Andrew Yen says:
I have had one for about 5 years and it does indeed fly through the water. I tend to let out some more scope as you use all rope rode if you intend to fly it. It holds like a danforth in sand. The concept is great.
But I have had two incidents where it didn’t reset with a wind change. I suspect this is a big weakness. I think the anchor may have been flipped over onto it’s back and then it wouldn’t reset. Maybe it would have been OK with more chain rode.
I won’t use it overnight now, I have just purchased a Bruce, but I am keeping the flook for stern anchor and lunch hook as Capt Reich suggests. I like it for those applications.
Jay Knight says:
Any leads on where to purchase the Flook Anchor in the Uniter States?
David Tew says:
Reviews indicate it works best in sand and mud, but not so well in rocky/hard sea-bottom conditions.
Georg Hinteregger says:
Amazing–very cool. Thanks for this post, Erik.
Capt. Peter Reich says:
We bought one about 15 years ago and have on our Lord Nelson 37. Works great as a stern anchor to keep us from tacking on bow anchor due to high freeboard forward. It works as advertised. Also great as a lunch hook.
