Hello folks, I found this helpful in navigating the new look. Quick question, does anyone think a date on people’s comments makes sense? The videos are dated but it’s hard to know when a comment was posted and I personally don’t want to reply to someone from several years ago. There is so much excellent content and I’m sure many of us watch the same videos numerous times, especially since we’re reintroduced through the new “surprise me” feature. Thanks.

Thanks Jonathan. We can definitely see how the date’s presence might feel helpful for your specific need in answering questions on your video. That said, if you answer someone’s question they’ll get an email notice of the answer, and it might be helpful to them even if it’s been there a while. Formerly, we had the date listed, and what we found is that older videos stopped getting comments or discussions because people felt like they would not be relevant or get buried in an old video. With some new features we introduced that bring older videos to the forefront, and new comments also to the forefront, the comments seem to be helping people discover new (older) videos in the collection and the date of the older comments seems to be irrelevant, and counterproductive. Hope that helps.
