These boats DO have sailing rigs and they are a ton of fun! I have an 8′ and 10′ version that are great for lakes and harbors. You wont break any speed records, but you also wont spend any time or money on maintenance. I never worry about bringing it up on a rock beach or it getting slammed against the dock at the boat ramp. We just take them out and have a good time!

I have a 10′ model that I really like. Picked it up used in Portland Maine needing some tlc. Put locust rub rails on it and bronze hardware. She looks great, rows really well, I use 9″ oars. Carries a good load and is stable. Tows nicely too, I moved the bow eye to a position lower on the stem for towing.

I’ve got one of these (but 8-6″ and with proper S&T oars) as a tender for my Cape Dory 31. I appreciate its combination of above average qualities with almost no maintenance at a reasonable cost!
